With keynote speeches from Nicky Morgan MP, Secretary of State for Education, and Tristram Hunt MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Education, we believe we are one step closer to putting early intervention on the political map.

Jonny Mitchell, head teacher from award-winning series Educating Yorkshire, spoke to Carey Oppenheim, CEO of the EIF, on the importance of behavioural support for pupils, a dedicated workforce and emotional investment in every pupil.

‘Is Early Intervention a Political Priority?’ was hotly debated by  Sir Tony Hawkhead, CEO of Action for Children, Baroness Claire Tyler, Chair of Cafcass, Sir Richard Leese, Leader of Manchester City Council and Tim Loughton MP.

Our new report ‘Spending on Late Intervention’ was launched, which estimates the immense cost – £17 billion – spent on Late Intervention in England and Wales.

In six seminars, leading figures from organisations such as the Institute for Fiscal Studies, NSPCC and Police Superintendent’s Association led discussions on key topics, including social care, gang and youth violence, children’s centres and government spend.
