EIF programme assessment: Open call for submissions

We are now inviting programme providers who are interested in being on our EIF Guidebook to submit an expression of interest for EIF to assess their programme in 2018/19.

The EIF Guidebook is a key tool for supporting the delivery of effective services. It provides independent information on the effectiveness and delivery of early intervention programmes.

Programmes may be added to the Guidebook once they have gone through our programme assessment process, which appraises the strength of the evidence for a programme’s effectiveness, using our standards of evidence.

You can find out more about our programme assessment process on the Guidebook or in this informative new blog from EIF researcher Lucy Brims, part of our programme assessment team.

EIF has previously undertaken programme assessments as part of a series of major thematic reviews (for example, on early years or social and emotional learning). This year we are inviting any programme provider who has an intervention with evidence of improving child outcomes to submit their programme for assessment.

Expressions of interest

We are requesting that programme providers complete an expression of interest using our online submission form.

An offline version of the form is also available, which is to be used as a reference copy of the online questionnaire, to help with preparing information for the online form.

Prior to completing the submission form, we would strongly encourage all interested parties to read our background paper, as it contains useful information on the call process and the criteria we will use in selecting which programmes are eligible for assessment.

We expect to receive more programme submissions than we are able to assess in 2018/19, and so will need to prioritise a smaller number of programmes for full assessment this year. Subsequently, submitting an expression of interest is no guarantee that EIF will be able to assess the programme in 2018/19.

The deadline for all expressions of interest is 5pm, Thursday 14 June. We would welcome submissions before that date and will look at submissions as soon as they are received.

We will notify all respondents of the outcome of their submission by the end of July.

If you have any queries which have not been addressed by the background paper, please email guidebook@eif.org.uk.
