Prof James Law
Professor James Law is professor of speech and language science at Newcastle University. He originally studied linguistics and then speech and language therapy.
His main focus has been on children’s language development. In particular he is interested in what helps children learn language most effectively, what can get in the way, and how this affects how children progress through school and into adulthood. He has also been involved in finding out what we can do to help children whose language development is behind their others skills or those of their peers. He has published widely in the field.
