Dr Marilena Korkodilos

Dr Marilena Korkodilos is Deputy Director for Healthcare, Wellbeing and Workforce at PHE London, which she joined in 2013. She worked in paediatrics and at the Confidential Enquiry into Stillbirth and Deaths in Infancy and subsequently trained in public health.

Marilena has worked as a consultant in public health medicine in the Department of Health, where she led work to reduce inequalities in infant mortality, and was Public Health Director for Specialised Commissioning in London.

In her current role Marilena leads work to improve health outcomes and reduce inequalities for children and young people in London and nationally, including providing expertise to the National Child Measurement Programme Board, Child Oral Health Improvement Board and National Child Mortality Database Board. She is currently providing public health expertise to the management of Covid-19 in children and young people, including to the Department for Education. She publishes infographic evidence-based reports to inform partnership work and facilitate action to improve outcomes for children and young people.

Marilena also acts as a scientific advisor for the Lullaby Trust and is a member of their Advisory Committee.
