EIF's maturity matrix on speech, language and communication in the early years is a self-assessment tool designed to help measure how advanced your local area is in creating a system that helps children in their early years to thrive, and to guide planning to make this local system more effective. This webinar introduces the maturity matrix as part of the Early Years Peer Review process, run by the Department for Education and the Local Government Association (LGA). This webinar is particularly important for anyone who is part of a peer review team and who is not completing the two-day LGA peer review training.

The webinar covers:
- how the maturity matrix works
- how it can be used to prepare local areas for peer reviews
- how it can be used to support the work of the peer review team.
