Prof Andrea Danese

Andrea Danese, MD, PhD, is Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London. The research from his team focuses on childhood trauma and emotional disorders in young people. Professor Danese is an active clinician, working as consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist at the National and Specialist CAMHS Clinic for Trauma, Anxiety, and Depression at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. This multidisciplinary service attracts referrals from across the UK and abroad for second opinion on diagnosis and treatment of hard-to-treat young people with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety disorders, and depression. He is also the academic secretary for the Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCPsych) Faculty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
