Leslie Gutman

Leslie Gutman is Professor of Applied Developmental and Health Psychology in the Department of Clinical, Health and Educational Psychology and programme director of the MSc Behaviour Change at University College London. She is also one of the core team at the Centre for Behaviour Change and associate editor of the Journal of Adolescence.

Leslie's research focuses on developmental trajectories in childhood and adolescence, risk and resilience, mental health and wellbeing, and aspirations and attainment. She has led research projects commissioned from the Department for Education, Educational Endowment Foundation and Cabinet Office, and conducted evaluations of school-based interventions and after-school programmes.  

Leslie was previously seconded to EIF in 2016 as interim Director of Evidence, and now consults on the EIF Guidebook, as well as projects related to children’s social and emotional learning and mental health.
