Realising the potential of early intervention: The early years, Bristol
EIF is holding a series of evidence seminars across England for local leaders and commissioners responsible for maternity and early years services. The seminars will provide an insight into the latest evidence for early childhood development, and will explore the implications for system and service design.
Attendees can expect to:
- Review the case for early intervention in the early years in the current public service context
- Hear about the latest evidence on childhood competencies and health child development from Kirsten Asmussen, the author of ‘Key competencies in early cognitive development: Things, people, numbers and words’, and ‘What works to enhance the effectiveness of the Healthy Child Programme: An evidence update’
- Explore the implications of evidence for system transformation

Early Years Transformation Academy
1.45pm-3.30pm
EIF is also inviting local leaders and commissioners to participate in a stakeholder workshop to test the design of the Early Years Transformation Academy Applied Strand, a new intensive structured learning programme for local leadership teams. The Academy materials include four modules, covering preparing for implementation, identifying vulnerable populations, system planning and measuring impact.
This workshop is limited to 20 participants and will include lunch.
Participants can expect to:
- Review the overall design of the Transformation Academy applied strand programme
- Engage with the Academy learning materials and explore practical application
